In the fall of 2005 my son entered into his first year of organized minor hockey. Being a good hockey dad I decided that I would get involved and become a coach. As part of my associations coaching requirements I needed to take a Safety course. Part of this course involved a section on athletic equipment cross-contamination and the need to keep it clean and free of germs and bacteria to prevent MRSA infections. They promoted 2 systems that were expensive and cumbersome to use to rid their equipment of these germs and bacteria. I was surprised that there wasn’t an easier and more effective way to do this.
